Christianity & Ghosts

Christianity is a religion with over 2,200 different sects ranging from the extreme left to the extreme right. Christianity is a religion, perceived by many Christians, as the tool to bring families together in worship and in unity. When we remove this perception, we find that Christianity fragments many families, tearing them apart over beliefs and practices not accepted by other family members.
There is constant in-fighting between the Christian sects, each determined to be absolute in their teachings. These different sects, formed because of a disagreement with the original beliefs, based on the same divine entities, but diverse in the tenets. Thus, we have fragments of Christianity divided into sects that function under different names, changed due to interpretation of the same word handed down.
The Christian rituals and ordeals are based on either traditions established in the Middle Ages or practices initiated thousands of years ago by nomadic Arabic tribes wandering the deserts. Today Christian members either follow the Hebrew Bible and the New Testament or they reject the Hebrew Bible (Old Testament) and rely only upon the New Testament. There is no uniform policy among the 2,200 sects.
The Hebrew Bible, written by and for specific nomadic Arabic tribes found in a small region of the world, did not encompass the people outside this land or who were not Arabic in lineage. If we remove the outdated myth that we call the Christian religion today, what is left? The answer is that everything is left when we remove the narrow blinders that prevent us from seeing the whole world.
If one rejects Christianity, it does not mean rejection of God. God was around long before the Christian sects and will be here long after they fade into the background. We tend to forget that God is not how big a church building might be or socializing only with those who believe in the same manner in which we believe. This has been a decision of man, not something passed down from God. We must not forget that God is the basis for any belief system.
This God-entity has many names given to it by the many world religions. God's name is not important, but it is the relationship that each of us establishes with him that is important. God does not have to jump through hoops to qualify to be a Christian God. The God of the Old Testament is mean and vicious while the God of the New Testament is kind and loving. These two Gods are as different as night to day. This is the beginning of a myth that alleged that the Hebrew Bible and the New Testament was really one long epic book.
I am an ordained and licensed minister, but I am not a minister that is exclusive to a Christian sect. I have a strong and personal relationship with God. I know the voice of my God. My God does not require me to jump through hoops or sit a church each Sunday or pay financial support to a church that man has created. I have no need for baptism or salvation by mouthing words, as there is no saving or damning by God. I am not going to a heaven or hell, as these are Christian concepts. I will find my peace, happiness, and bliss and it will have nothing to do with membership or lack of membership in any man-made churches.
Yes, I learned a lot from understanding the dead. They abide by no earth based religion after death. This is one reason exorcism has no power over the dead. Religious exorcism is a myth promoted by the original Christians to empower them with the ability to remove spirits. Religion does not exist with God or in the life after death realm. God does not require religion or even that we have to believe in him. God imposes no requirements on to man. Study the pagan or native beliefs and you find that each teach a respect for God and for nature and this land that we all share together.
Yes, I believe in God, I believe in life after death, and I believe that ghosts are the evidence of that life after death. Christianity hinders the understanding of life after death by creating demons and fears that the dead are evil and lost to God.

The Modern Ghost Hunter

Once upon a time, way back in 1996, there were no active ghost hunters on the Internet. A few web sites posted some stale photos of ghostly anomalies, but there existed no web site dedicated to teaching people about ghosts and the art of ghost hunting. I know because I searched the Internet for other ghost hunting web sites and found none. I used Search Engines without success. I found one web site where the ghost hunter called himself the Premier Ghost Hunter, but his site was stale, meaning he did not post to his site in about a year his site averaged about 1,000 hits a year. His ego was apparently in need of inflating to use the term Premier, but hey, not every one has a good self image of themselves.
We discovered there were ghost hunting clubs, but none had web sites back in 1996. We were the first to set up a web site dedicated to teaching others about ghost hunting, without relying upon psychics or mediums, which we consider to be unreliable at best. We decided to base our teachings by taking the scientific approach to ghost hunting. We relied upon electronic tools that provided us with changes in the physical environment.
Since our early beginnings when we achieved over 2,000 hits the first month, we knew we have found the key to teaching others about ghosts. We got as many visitors to our site in the first month as the "Premier" ghost hunter go over a two year period. Today, we average about 3,000 hits a day to ghostweb.com.
We discovered along the way that most ghost hunters relied upon the traditional approach to ghost hunting that achieved about a 10% success in documenting paranormal activities. We teach an approach that achieves over 90% success because we have discovered secrets along the way and from our field investigations that we shared with those who visit our web site.
As professional photographers, we had amassed over 10,000 print and slide inventory before we developed techniques designed for ghost photography. While it is true that any one call pick up a camera and snapped photos of dust orbs and call them spirit orbs, the sad truth is that these photographers did not grasp some elementary foundations used in photography. Anyone can pick up a camera and snap photos, but it takes an expert to understand what appears in the photos that novices confused with ghost orbs.
As a result of so much confusion and misunderstanding, we produced the Photo Analysis CD several years ago to display the differences between rain drops, tree and grass pollen, dust particles, mist, fog, smoke and other natural environmental anomalies as compared to the real stuff, the spirit orb, vortices and orbs in motion. We also wrote the Digital Ghost Photography Handbook to aid new beginners, both as a PDF download and as a thermal bound Booklet.
We have found the best evidence for the existence of ghosts to come from recording their voices. Airborne dust particles have no effect on ghost voices. The ghost voices will be filled with the human emotions from beyond the grave. Any kind of recorder will function for this task. We provided a simply How To Article on EVP recordings and we also wrote and published the more comprehensive booklet called, How to Record and Analyze Ghost Voices, which is also available as a PDF download. Prior to our publications, there were no definitive work on this subject by anyone else. Since the release of How to Record and Analyze Ghost Voices, other groups have jumped onto the bandwagon with their own version, but as always, it was after we had led the way.
We do not use psyhics and mediums, as most of them are just wannabe's seeking glory and fame. Over the past fourteen years, we have a few who are actually good at it, but we have found hundreds who claim they have the ability and yet their results failed to prove their claim. Many of these pschics and mediums are only out to sell their snakeoil portions, or trying to become the next John Edwards. Television producers are the most guilable of all profession. They use anybody they can to represent the other side to ghost hunting, even people who simply claim to be mediums or psychics. I have watched these so called experts and their theories are so outlandish that even first graders would smile and ask them to prove it.
The modern day ghost hunter has all the tools available to conduct a field investigation. All the tools, except the knowledge of what he or she is finding. It is one thing to snap a few hundred photos, or to use a thermal scanner and find cold spots, but what does this tell them? They have no idea why the cold spot is found, they have no idea why ghosts are earth bound and worst of all, they think that a few holy words will exorcise ghosts simply because a home owner is afraid of them. The serious ghost hunter needs a foundation of knowledge, beyond just the tools of the trade. Our Home Study Course leading to our certification as a ghost hunter will enable that ghost hunter now to opearte in the 90% range, instead of the 10% range when it come sto ghost hunting.

Removing Pesky Ghosts

Exorcism of Ghosts by Dr. Dave Oester
I do not endorse the unwarranted removal of a spirit simply because someone is frightened. People fear what they do not understand and try to destroy what they fear. The IGHS has held that establishing diplomatic dialog with them is better than to call your local priest or roving ghost buster to toss water, wave icons or speak highly charged words or phrases at them that will only anger them. Ghosts are people without physical bodies. They respond in kind, so if you remember that they are a life form with intelligence, personality and emotions and act accordingly, the better off you will find yourself. I am a licensed, ordained minister, but that does not mean that God will intervene and remove spirits, any more then God will intervene and save the life of an innocent child starving to death. This is akin to standing in front of an oncoming train and raising your hands commanding God to stop the train before it hits you. I suspect God would say, "What a foolish person" and allow the train to hit you. I would say, "We are cleansing the gene pool."
I would suggest that some traditional myths associated with methods to expel malevolent spirits. These are myths and do not work. The first myth suggests calling upon the name of a heavenly entity, such as Jesus or the Virgin Mary to "compel" a malevolent spirit to depart. Simply making the sign of the Cross, holding Rosary Beads or a Cross and than calling upon either Jesus or the Virgin Mary for help will have no effect upon the malevolent spirit. A malevolent spirit is outside the belief system that those upon whom live will predicate their lives. The malevolent spirit has the advantage of being in the spirit world and comprehending the two realities. While we mortals can only practice dogmas and tenants that we have been taught, the spirit knows which is truth that is man's interpretation.
The second myth is that a malevolent spirit can be removed by exorcism. A malevolent spirit will not leave simply because someone sprinkles holy water or speaks words commanding them to leave. This is more appropriate for scriptwriters in Hollywood who conjures up the dark figures who torment man and the easy, predictable solutions, such as exorcism to expel a malevolent ghost.
These myths suggest that religious icons, religious rituals or holy and powerful words will force a malevolent spirit from a home is steeped in the folklore of the Middle Ages. Consider for a moment that not all spirits are or were Christians in life so why would they suddenly obey holy words uttered now when they would not in life? What magical powers do these words have? Have these words ever stopped a killer? The answer is no. Words alone cannot change the course of a river nor move mountains. Words can help us understand about the world within which we live. Words have no effect or power upon the spirits of the dead. Now, what will remove malevolent spirits?
Let us consider why a spirit may remain in this earth plane as a malevolent spirit. Consider a person who allowed his vices to rule his life. This person succumbs to the baser instincts in life and relies upon his need to feel good by outside stimulation. His spirit is debased and resides in the lowest levels of the spirit world upon his death. That spirit has not evolved into a higher life form but has retained the level it was at death. It seeks to find victims exhibiting negative energy fields upon which it can feed. This is the traditional emotional vampire that sucks the emotional energies until the victim is emotionally dry and than abandons them for someone else.
Who are the victims of these malevolent spirits? The victims are those who are filled with unresolved emotions, such as animosity, malice, bitterness, anger, hatred or resentment that festers in the deep dark recesses of the mind. These intense emotions are attracting the negative energy malevolent spirits. The negative emotions may be a result of divorce, bankruptcy, marital conflicts, domestic family problems, employment problems or any kind of stress. Perhaps this internal conflict is from bitter memories of childhood or a traumatic event in one's life that has not been fully resolved. This is not a common occurrence.
It is well documented that most exorcism work for a short time and than the spirit activity seems to increase afterwards. I would suggest that this dormant period between the exorcism and activity could be explained by the lunar cycles involving the full and new moons and peak geomagnetic fields. The period between the new and full moon has the lowest geomagnetic fields, thus suggesting that ghostly activity is almost nonexistent.
The problems that arise from attempts to banish or exorcize the spirit suggest that a greater negative force come into the home, stronger than before. I do not believe that exorcism is effective because the spirits of the dead are not bound by our laws or practices. They have crossed over to the other side and now understand more of what we accept on faith and their knowledge suggests that what we believe may not be factual. Exorcism is like using the Ouija boards, often allowing unwanted malevolent spirits to enter the home. Ghosts are not demons, nor are they evil, perhaps angry, but anger is an emotion that many people confuse with demonic.
What is more common in 99% of the time is what we call the prankster spirit who loves to play a good joke on the living. It has been my experience from communication with thousands of people who have had an experience that frightened them sufficiently to call for banishment or exorcism that their reasons were purely selfish and reflected a lack of understanding of the spirits of the dead.
What is a regular prankster spirit? If we come to understand that the pranks initiated by the spirits of the dead are often a call for acknowledgment, a call for help or perhaps it is simply a joke they are playing on the living. The most common ghostly pranks that scare people are as follows:
Footsteps in the hallway or attic.
Low voices.
Muffled voices.
Objects vanishing.
Objects being moved.
Dark shadows on the wall.
Appliances being turned on and off.
Lights turned on or off at will.
Strange odors.
Dogs & cats acting weird.
Your name being called.
Impression someone is watching.
Footprints appearing.
Strong negative emotions felt.
In all of the above, the ghost may simply be having some fun to see how we will deal with it. Some folks will move out of the home, others will become paranoid and a few will laugh about the prank. The only time that I would consider unhealthy for a ghost to pull pranks in a home is if small child(ren) are being frightened. I would ask the spirit not to scare the child or children in a firm voice, strong but not overbearing. Talking to a spirit is very helpful in resolving issues that the living want addressed.
The prankster spirit has issues that it needs to address, earth linked emotions that it must release so it can move to a higher level of the spirit kingdom. Banishing these spirits will not help them on a spiritual level, we should work with them to resolve the issues or aid them in resolution of unfinished business so they are free of the anchors that tie them to this realm. We need to be concerned about their spiritual welfare, not simply our own fears of the unknown. However, there is another kind of spirit who is not seeking for help or for resolution of issues, but is simple a low-level malevolent spirit that takes pleasure in hurting others.
A malevolent spirit is a spirit with destructive behavior patterns that will harm a member or members of a household. Once the member is attacked by this malevolent sprit, the member seeks the name of a good priest who will conduct an exorcism or they will contact the IGHS. I will respond and suggest that it will do no good to hold an exorcism, instead we must treat the cause, not the issue. I believe in cause and effect and the cause is not the malevolent spirit causing negative activity, but the reasons that the spirit is drawn to that victim. The cause stems from the negative energy being broadcasted by the individual because of deep emotional issues that are not resolved.
Resolution does not come by applying myths of the Middle Ages that represent outside changes or events, but to turn inside for changes that will negate the negative energies being broadcasted by the person. Very often, the person will not know that he or she is transmitting negative emotions because the transmitter is buried deep inside scare tissue. Sadly, victims expect bells and whistles when they call upon someone to do an exorcism but in reality, the truth is plane and is ignored my most because it appears to be too simple to work.
Each of us acts as a beacon, sending forth emotional energy that can be positive or negative. Malevolent spirits who feed on negative emotions soon arrive to "stir the pot" and bring it to a boil. If we want to heal, we must forgive and forget and move on. We must forgive those who have hurt us and move past the pain to find emotional harmony. Forgiveness is the first step and letting go of the inner negative emotions is required for healing our inner being and turning off the beacon.
The key to removing annoying spirits is to remove the negative emotions buried deep within us. We must not keep these destructive emotions buried, but let them go. The solution is within us and only we can change how we feel or how we react with others. We need to let go of emotional baggage and get on with life. We hurt no one except ourselves with destructive emotional baggage. Remember the adage that says, "As a man thinkest, so he is."
We carry within us the forgiveness key that will unlock the catacomb that protects our emotional monsters. We do not want emotional monsters locked away in our minds because they will beckon to the low-level malevolent spirits who feed on this negative emotions. If we heal ourselves, we can get rid of those pesky ghosts

Four men & a ghost!

Jim (from Ghoststudy) writes, we recently bought this photo for our collection. The picture is from a "film" camera and we have the original photo from the negative. The ghostly image is part of the photo and is quite a treat to see when viewing the photo up ghost, ah, I mean up close. :) The story goes, these four men were joking about having a ghost in the house and how brave they were. Apparently they were daring the entity to come out into the room. Well, I think the ghost was listening.

What are Ghosts & Orbs?

The below statement is evidence based on the knowledge that is presently known concerning these things. Yes, ghosts are real and they do share space with us in this life although in a different realm of existence. Orbs are also believed to be ghosts of people as well as other life forms.
Orbs are believed (by many) to be ghosts in the form of balls of light. They are life forms that travel in groups and are believed to be the human soul or life force of those that once inhabited a physical body here on earth. Psychics claim to talk to them on a regular basis, and ghost hunters encounter them quite frequently. It is said that they are those spirits that have willingly stayed behind because they feel bound to their previous life or previous location for whatever reason. Because of this obsession they tend to become similar to a psychotic human beings. It should be said that the majority of us when we die proceed gladly and willingly to the next level of existence after saying our quiet good-byes, which means we're off to the spirit world. Then again, as stated, a select few elect to stay behind because of a refusal to move on. Apparently the longer they stay behind, the harder it is to find their way to the next level, which again, is the spirit world.
Ghostly orbs are the most photographed anomalies caught on film by ghost hunters and are quite photogenic (when they want to be). They can be completely transparent or display themselves in a bright solid form. It is not hard to capture them on film in their circular form. It is theorized that ghosts prefer the form of an Orb (ball of light) because it takes less energy thus being the mode of choice among the ghosts. The consensus is that small orbs take up the least amount of energy and apparitions and other fuller shapes take up the most. In the colder parts of the year, it seems that ghosts tend to find it easier to take on shapes other than orbs. That's when there is the most static electricity in the atmosphere. Those months being October through February. It is also believed that they are able to draw on our own energy when needed. I've listed these ways but there are obviously many ways for ghosts to draw energy from the atmosphere and environment but I won't take the time for that here.
If you're wondering, ghosts are normally harmless for the most part and have relatively no desire to bring harm to anyone nor do they have much of an awareness to act as such. Ghosts however, have been known to disrupt the lives of those that they effect and play pranks and move things about. To state it plainly, they are actually limited in the activities that they are able to carry out in their frame of existence. Non-human forms as well as evil spirits and demons, who have never had a body, have additional powers and have the ability to sway our thoughts and tempt our reasoning. This is why Ouija boards and other similar devices should be shunned! They have the ability to open windows into other realms of existence and can attract evil or bad spirits. If you are experiencing what you consider to be the effects of an evil spirit or demon in your life then it could be the location where you are living, but you must also consider your life style as well. In other words, how you are living or the activities that you involve yourself in that might inadvertently be drawing them to you.
I might also mention a word or two about spirits in this forum. First of all, as I have alluded to earlier, ghosts and spirits are not quite the same. Spirits are capable of continuing a full existence on the other side with their full mental and emotional facilities intact, unlike their counterpart the ghost. You will most likely not encounter a spirit on a ghost hunt as you would a ghost. When they are detected, it is believed that their appearance might be in the form of ectoplasm mist, as well as a full bodied apparitions. They are permitted to visit on occasion and even communicate a message when they have permission to do so but for the most not they will not be picked up on any ghost detection devices or be photographed by any cameras (for the most part). Many believe that we have spirits assigned to watch over us, and that might very well be true but you won't normally be detecting them unless they have a special purpose in making there presence known. In other words Spirits (not ghosts) seem to have a finer spirit tissue that is for the most part undetectable.
There are other theories concerning ORBS. I have in the past heard such theories that orbs might simply be Nature spirits or Airborne protoplasm as you would find under a microscope, except far more advanced.
Other types of ghostly phenomenon are the vortex (funnel shaped appearance) and Ectoplasm (it has a mist or foggy appearance) also called Ecto Mist. These are often picked up on film and video as well but are much more rare. I'm not making any determinations to their origin but welcome any of your opinions on the subject.
__ J. Eaton
The opinions stated above are my own but have come through intense study, spiritual experiences, collaboration with other investigators and through many on sight investigations.
A word of counsel concerning orb photography: Orbs can be produced by accident, and can appear quite readily on film by the elements and conditions around you. Most orb photographs are merely the result of dust or even weather conditions such as rain and humidity. Moisture, dust and airborne particles up close to the lens at the time of the flash can and will effect the results of your pictures. Always make a note of the conditions around you when doing ghost photography.

HOW TO REMOVE BLACK MAGIC GHOST

Do Demons Exist?

I get many emails from visitors to our web site who claim they have demons invading their
homes. These people seek a quick solution to their problem. In some cases, they seek priests to do exorcisms or call upon psychics to come and banish these demonic visitors. Unfortunately for them neither priests or psychics are successful and it only gets worst afterwards.
I simply have to smile and wonder what planet they came from. Rather than wanting to learn about what is happening, they do not seek education, only banishment of what they claim to be evil around them. It seems everything that they do not understand is labeled a demon.
Over a fifteen year period, I have recorded over three thousand EVP ghost voices and investigated over 1,000 haunted sites, both in the USA and in Central America and I have never encountered anything that came close to resembling demons or evil creatures. If demons exist, why haven't I encountered them in my investigations, often done at sites many consider to be evil or demonic?
There are no demons and no demonic creatures, but we do have the evil that men will do to each other. I do not fear the dead but have dedicated my life to understanding the spirits that remain on this earth plane. Never have I encountered anything more than a ghost with attitude. Fear the living, but not the dead.
Demons are a myth evolved from Western Religious Sects. Demons are supposed to lead the "saved" ones away from the true light. It is odd, but these sects believe that only they are in danger of damnation from these demons. The rest of humanity is not tormented by demons, as they are not "saved" so why is it that these demons only torment these sects? Perhaps it is the demons of their own souls that torment them.
People who love labels and who lack any knowledge or understanding of the spirits of the dead will label ghosts and shadow people as being demonic. This sounds like the philosophy of the medieval period when people believed anything told to them by their cleric leaders, who demanded total obedience from the people. We supposedly live in an age of enlightenment, we supposedly do don't believe in superstitions and in folklore. We accept science and the achievements of science, like the television and radio, but we allow ourselves to be hoodwinked by myths and folklore that have no foundation or validity.
At one time, even a match was called a Lucifer and in an earlier era was considered black magic. Exorcism is an ineffective ritual to remove ghosts or demons. This is just another example of how some people fall back into superstitions and folklore, instead of using common sense.
Demons never existed in the medieval church until after people viewed the play, Dante's Inferno, and after that time, the Church used the hellish examples in the play as a metaphor about good and evil. Later the metaphor evolved into doctrine and became a Church teaching that continues to this day. A good example of this transmutation of the metaphor is "John runs like a deer." Later this metaphor will evolve into "John is a deer" and people will swear that John was a deer.
It is interesting to observe the transmutation that takes place in religious doctrine and how it influences new ghost hunters entering this field. Some argue that religion has no place in ghost hunting, but I would suggest that religion has an important role as their disciples are the ones who promote negative connotations with their demonic myths and self-proclaimed judgments regarding ghosts. If we ignore religion, we ignore the basis for demonism. We need to understand this myth as it is a superstition instituted by medieval cleric to scare and keep their congregational members in obedience.
If we live in an age of enlightenment, we need to cast off the sacred cows that hide the truth behind tradition and discover that the spirits of the dead is evidence of life after death.

The BLACK MAGIC - a moving spiritual story

ralph keeton black magic exorcisms.co.uk

Imagine being
asked to visit a home where Black Magic had brought out a ghostly
apparition.....Well !

The conscious use of supernatural powers for the
exercise of evil, the perversion of white magic. White Magic is concerned with
expanding consciousness and improving the common good. Black magic is the
selfish and squalid perversion of magical arts to destroy others, or for
personal gain.
But what ever the name 'The Occult' unless looked after
properly can lead to powerful paranormal activity.

The black magician
is, quite simply, a person who wants power for him/herself, or
self-aggrandizement. They want to be able to vent their spite on enemies and
to satisfy all of their desires. A black magician may summon the Devil or one of
his demons and remain a white magician, so long as the purpose for the summoning
is benevolent.

Black magicians are usually defined as those who made a
pact with the Devil. They invoke diabolic and infernal powers for their personal
use and gain; in short, a perversion of legitimate mystic science.

voodo exorcisms.co.uk

Voodoo (Black Magic) is similar in many ways to other
Afro-American cults, such as Santeria in Cuba and Macumba in Brazil and today
enjoys over 40 million followers.

The term voodoo is thought to be
derived from the word for 'spirit' in the Fon language of Dahomey, now part of
Nigeria. The voodoo religion involves belief in a supreme god (bon dieu) and a
host of spirits called loa.

Most voodoo practices involve the loa, which
are often identified with Catholic saints. These spirits are closely related to
African gods and may represent natural phenomena - such as fire, water, or wind
- or dead persons, including eminent ancestors. They consist of two main groups:
the rada, often mild and helping, and the petro, which may be dangerous and
harmful.

In England, Voodoo practices include animal sacrifices and
pilgrimages. The focal point of a pilgrimage is usually a Christian church
identified with a particular voodoo spirit. The most important of these
pilgrimages take place in July and honor Ogou (Saint James) and Ezili Danto (Our
Lady of Mount Carmel). Another aspect of voodoo is called 'work of the left
hand', which includes belief in zombies

Our Involvement With VOODOO

Try to
dealing with the most unusual of spirits, and then Voodoo Spirits ! ! ! ! . . .
...
We encountered a former home of a Voodoo Priest (known as a houngans or
manbos). The home was bound in a 'magic' ceremony where a 'Zombie' like state
encrouched your dreams. The new owners had different beliefs to many Uk
citizens, but wanted help to be able to rest from the wicked spirit as they
called it. It was they whom told us of Voodoo and therefore some form of
understanding what a Voodoo spirit was, had to be known!

First things
first a good knowledge from a local voodoo expert and local history was sought.
Luck was on our side as the local newspaper reporter told us of a man possessed
by the 'Petro' spirit had murdered his victims at the home. Anyone living in it
soon to found an evil presence that would become known quickly and that was just
our case. Local police soon gave information regarding the number of victims and
the state they were found in.

Again luck was with us as the local
reporter showed us photographs around the crime scene. Looking at some
photographs of the previous occupants handy work, revealed that around the home
Jars of Odd looking pieces of human remains were place in what seemed like
'Strange' places. It was at these points that activity was at its strongest,
blessing these areas and cleansing through VooDoo techniques helped clear areas.
This spirit had to be removed and controlled, it is believed that when human
spirit has committed evil deeds during its temporal existance it can be placed
into a permanent state of nothing. In christian terms 'Purgatory', Thankfully
most Voodoo priests act for the common good, conducting exrcisms and
administering healing rituals.

Again more luck (or was it) a local
American Voodoo Priest made himself known, and he placed himself up to offer
help. The home had the spirit had to be exorcised, to release the entity.

We watched the wonderful ceromony with disbelief as all felt the power
of a spirit rush headlong at us. This time we felt powerless as the Priest
performed his duties to the earth and humans alike. Seeing his own zombie like
state worried us as we were relative onlookers to an unsusual event. Over one
and a half hours passed so quickly, peace returned to the home. We all felt
humbled at this type of ceromony were another religion/belief was shown to us.
Our respect for other cultures and beliefs has risen, similarities to our own
are there for us to see - but one thing is for sure they believe in a God being
around us all the time, as we do our own.

The Ghostly DOPPLEGANGER - meeting yourself in Spirit

Let me paint you a picture.
Imagine sitting up at night seeing yourself walk
in and out of your bedroom. Thinking you were dreaming you get up to meet
YOURSELF standing on the other side of your bedroom door....

Doppleganger, from the German meaning 'double walker', a ghostly
double or counterpart of a living person.
The belief that each person has an
identical 'twin' somewhere, though they are unrelated, is a very ancient one.

Sometimes the Doppelgänger is the direct opposite personality of the real
person; a very nice person will have an evil Doppelgänger and vice-versa.

exorcisms.xo.uk exorcisms.xo.uk

Legend says that if the two should meet, they will both die. Other
accounts describe the Doppelgänger as the soul embodied, sometimes a astral
projection or aura, the double most often presenting itself as a warning.

According to an old belief, anyone who wants to know who will pass away in
the coming year has only to stand vigil near a church door on April 24, the eve
of the feast of St. Mark. At midnight, the airy doubles of all who will die file
in a solemn processional into the church.

If the watcher is unlucky
enough to see his/her own image there, he/she knows his/her own time is not far
off.

So imagine its nearly midnight and you wake thinking you've just
had a weird dream, which most of us really.
You open your bedroom door to
see your EXACT reflection standing looking at you. Only this ones your complete
opposite in everyway but looks.

Our Story:

The call went
like this......
"Hi can you help me I think I've had a twin brother, I
didn't know about and they've come to see me"
Silence but we waited the
caller seemed to pause in mid sentance.
" Er, only thing is its F*****g Evil
and I want rid of it....NOW !"
Off into action we went.

Indeed on
inspection this was evil, and, really Evil !

Try convincing someone its
a Spirit who likes you and wanted to look like you, because it found it funnier
than scaring you with noises and all because it knew you could see it.

Only thing now was exorcising a spirit double, whilst keeping the real
life double calm.
Straight forward ish ! But here we had to unravel why a
seemingly unknown spirit wanted not only look like you, but just appear out of
the blue.

A mystery soon to be solved. We waited til 3 in the
morning before being confronted by the spirit. He made his entrance, seemingly
this man was not nice at all. He'd lived there and was ruled by the landowner.
Being abused and treated like a slave, it seemed as though his only way not to
be miss treated was to 'blend in'.

Took some time for us to make good
contact, but he'd had a rough time and he wanted to be left alone. The new owner
when we asked him had unfortunatly destroyed a barm at the end of the gardens,
thinking it was rubbish. Here is where our man stepped in thinking he had done
something wrong. When he appeared to the new owner he felt it appropriate to
look similar for fear of getting a telling off.

Now realising he couldn't be
told off and that this new owner could see him, he'd started to terrorize him.
By now we realised he wasn't going to go under any circumstances, and, to make
it worse he actually liked seeing the new owner look terrified.

The only
way to remove this man was to be forceful and direct, we moved out into the
garden. Standing by the pulled down barn we where immeadiatly abused and stoned,
one such stone catching our new owner on the leg. More remarkable was the
glowing light seen under the stones, all saw a glowing yellowish light. Calling
for him to be moved on and by now getting pungant smells wasnt easy. The
distractions being out in the open and hearing running footsteps towards you
isn't nice. When calm . . . , we ran back into the home to the bedroom doorway
and exorcised the remaining spirit.

This spirit over a matter three
weeks had managed to get the new owner to research and find out about
dopplegangers. So terrified of this was he he'd called in ghost hunters and
vicars to help. In real terms we didnt have such a spirit, though he was right
to check. But he too easilly drew conclusions about his destiny.
In reality
this spirit had over time developed a knack of blending in, our own research
after revealed many locals had seen what they thought was the previous owner.
The house had become known for its old spirits of the dead returning. In fact we
had here two spirits, one whom was very passive and connected with the new
owner. The other this labourer of old who'd managed to look like either old
visitors or (as a the new owner found out) you....

GHOST HUNTER EFFECT

Truthfully you will find tons of information on ghost hunting from every possible angle there is. Some of the information is speculation but much of it is good--and the best information is just common sense stuff.
Never take photographs in bad weather because rain, fog, mist, snow, or wind can cause you to get “fake” orbs.
Never clean your camera lens between shots on the same roll of film. This way you can determine if something was on your lens if it reappears on shot after shot.
Never assume anything. Check, double-check and verify everything.
No smoking when taking photographs.
Hold your breath before shooting a photo if it is cold out--many a wintertime ectoplasm photograph is really a plume of breath.
Never try to get EVP in an area filled with chatter. How can you distinguish a ghost from a real person? Try to keep control of the situation and we recommend using a program so that you can determine if the voice is that of one of your group. We recommend a program here on our site that is not very expensive but that does give us great success.
When using infrared video, practice shooting in the dark first. Many a “ghost” has turned out to be a shadow in infrared. You should also be aware of the characteristics of an orb and of dust. Kick up dust, pat the furniture and walk through the grass in the darkness while shooting in infrared. Learn the nuances of your camera and that will help you immensely when you are on a site.
Limit chatter and movement on site. This helps to keep things simple when determining what happened when.
Read and study from as many reputable sources as you can. The American Ghost Society, The Pennsylvania Ghost Hunters Society and the International Ghost Hunters Society, The South Jersey Research Foundation and Shadowlands to name a few. Every one of these sources will offer information, facts, opinions, and items of interest to a ghost hunter.
You see, this is all just common sense. If you have questions, please e-mail us and ask. We certainly don’t know everything about this field--in truth, no one does--but we’ll do our best to get you an answer. If we can’t, maybe we’ll learn the answers together.
